Hi everyone, im putting this up for my brother, who is kinda computer um, well not very savy. We were fishing in his smokercraft last week at the mouth of a river here in Oregon and the motor dies. Out going tide and all, scary few moments for sure, another boat towed us in, thank you again. He found the cdi was bad, replaced it with one off of an '01 25 hp merc, now has spark but will not start. He says the plugs are wet so its getting gas. Also, he says that when he grounds the coil as it was with the '87 he loses spark in the top plug. Also #2, the kill switch allows spark to the plugs, even in the off position, assuming its supposed to cut off the spark to kill the motor. Well there you have it folks, any ideas? Thanks in advance, Dean
