Hello,

I am having problems with low-speed running with my 87 90HP OB (VRO). If run my motor for 20mins or longer at low speeds the plugs are fouling and one of the cylinders may miss when I open it up. The problem is fixed if I clean up the carbon on the plugs.

Is this a problem with the VRO mix? Too rich? Should I disconnect the VRO system and pre-mix my fuel at 50-1?

Or can the system be tuned?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I matched the plugs that came with the motor - NGK smooth top plugs (Without the post). I have referred to the manual and I bought Champion QL77JC4 Gapped at .30. I am hoping to run them this wkd.

Champions are the recommended plug, the (Q)L77JC4 is fine. .30 is a bit wide, .030 is fine. Sorry, couldn't help myself - we know what you ment.
