I have a 87,170 Trophy , With a 70H Evinrude. The steering is giving me fits! I can't get the steering linkage out of the tube housing. Does the motor have to unbolted and walked over to the far (left ) side ? binski

If the Trophy has a narrow motor well, sliding the motor to port is the only way to free a steering cable from a tilt tube.

Cut the steering rod /cable to get it out. Use the old cable to pull new hydraulic hoses fir hydraulic steering. Check Uflex, Seastar, Vexus. Mophorn etc.fir s complete kit. Best thing you can do to a cable steered outboard.
