hi
I just bought a Bayliner Capri with a 225 Evinrude on it.On the first test run today the engine stalled and finally stopped. The engine idled and revved perfectly before it after about 3-5 minutes slowly died.
After the engine stopped I could get it running by pumping the bladder on the fuel line and chocking the engine, it will then run and rev when revving the engine in neutral, but when I put the engine in gear it slowly dies out and I have to do it all over again.Did all this aprox 20 time to get the boat to shore again
spooky.Anyway,I will start in the fuel tank tomorrow, removing the fuel pickup and see if it is clogged and also check for water in the fuel tank, then move further to the bladder on the fuel line and check if this could be faulty.Any other ideas on what could be the problem.??I can only get the problem to occur after revving the engine in gear for aprox 3-5 minutes, the engine never fails, stutters or stalls when idling.
