I come from an Evinrude/Johnson family and to own anything else was just plain wrong. Well, tomorrow I'm going to look at a boat that has a low hours '87 Force 50 on it and I know NOTHING about Force engines. Are there a few years that are good or bad, are there "Mercury" engines and others that aren't? Can anyone give me some insight on what I might be looking at and what to look for? Where the Force engines of that time period generally reliable and can you still get parts for them?
