All, Thanks! ... this is good to know, as Ive not been aware of it for my three outings so far.. No noticeable result, of course, but what would be a symptom of worn clutch dog? What even is that? Is that the boating term for clutch flywheel edges? In any case don't think I've been 'iffy' on the shift as its just not my tendency on things, and It seemed to help in any case with the stalling to just get it quickly into gear so I could get the rpm's up to keep it running. NO Worries: My idle increase per all your recommendations seems to have nearly eliminated it! Last outing was stall-free. I may up the idle just a tad more to cover differing conditions, since this puppy starts right up with the new settings, better than the guy who had it two years ago claimed it did. Also, for those following my related concern about the exhaust ports, it seems to have no effect on running, spitting out plenty. JerryJerry, I've looked at the schematics, and there is indeed an 'insert' of unidentifiable purpose in there, but of course, the part,
INSERT F85258 is 'unavailable'. Thanks again, all, happy boating!

Clutch flywheel edge???

Try Franz for the insert or make your own from a piece of HARD plastic pipe?
The purpose is: to keep the end of the rubber boot from collapsing as it's pushed against the metal housing.
This makes sure the exhaust(that comes out) isn't blocked and force back into the motor.
