Well found a great deal on new wheel bearing kits! $50 all 4 wheels shipped :D They are on the way and should see them on Wednesday... Going to pick up a roll of 3/16 brake line and ends to make all new lines while were at it..... Can't be to safe when it comes to the trailer!

those brakes remind me of brakes I replaced on a 1997 Chateau 5th wheel but they were electric.!!!!!!

So another productive day today. Started out cutting the wood for side panels and motor cover. After that we rolled the gelcoat on the deck.:D

Now it was time to go to work on the brakes, mounted all the hardware, flaired and installed new brake lines and started to bleed the system. Waiting on the berrings and grease seals before the newly painted drums are installed.

Time to look at our winch, and what else would have we expected, more work needed. For starters there was a nest of some sorts under the cover. Cover is cracked, power is rigged, tension springs for the wire rope is bent beyond repair, needs new wire rope, switch is broken...

What you see here is our solution to the carpet that uas under the cap in the bow section. We used commercial rubber roofing, cut to fit up the sides about 6" and cement to the hullProvides a waterproof floor that we could not get without pulling the top off.

Thanks PG! We are real happy with the results of the deck gel coat. It went well for rolling it on and not spraying it. :)

It's gonna be the signs Wood...... No non-skid stuff in the gel but the 1708 makes some nice checkering for some grip  We will have carpet down for when were in bare feet ..... while fishing boots or sneakers.....we'll see how it goes.

I could always do a second coat of gel and non-skid stuff if need be. ;)

I hear you. I wish we would have good fishing spots down here in southern New Mexico. The closest mountain lake is an hour away and the lake where we can boating is ~3 hours.

Great thread, guys. I just read through the whole thing and lots of great tips and pics. I'm excited for the launch day too! Sorry about your weather this winter and you're to be commended trudging through it. As for the "Fishing Launch", heck my boat has a Capt's chair and a cooler and the rest of the deck is clear. Get that sucker wet!!!!

That is the plan, 2 chairs and a couple fishing poles and a cooler.:D Get out on the water then slowly finish up the cosmetic stuff. Glad we did a couple nights this past week, unfortunatly I now have to work on Saturday and the boat will have to wait.:(
