I am in the process of rebuilding a boat and while I am at it going over the motor. After to much reading here I have a quick question on the removal of the autoblend tank on an 87' 115hp inline6 3 carb setup, with quicksilver controls. I am trying to keep the selftest intact, so when I remove the modual from the autoblend tank do I need to terminate the oil level sensor in a particular way? From searching the forum all I ever see is people removing the tank, do most folks remove them and leave the wiring harness to the tank disconnected? ie. no self test?

Since I'll probably never be able to afford another motor and the fact that this one only has 280 hours on it I don't want to take a chance on the autoblend taking it out :D

With out autoblend what do you need the self test for, I had a 87 115 with autoblend that failed twice while the engine was under warrenty so we took it off, as the horn was for low level only I was afraid to run as the warrenty was about over. Mercury stood by both warrenties, but I didn't want to take a chance the 3rd time after that it was he most trouble free engine I ever owned--Bob

Laddieservice,
thanks for the reply. One quick question,
does the high temp warning still work with out the module? If it does then all is right, well as right as I can be :)

Also - test the high-temp warning by jumpering the little wire on sensor at #1 to ground - it outta beep.

-W
