My lower unit intake screens are almost completely gone. I know the screens are vital to keeping dirt, grass, and debris from getting to the water pump area. Can any of you knowledgable pros help me out with l/u removal, screen part # or equivalent, and impellar replacement procedure since I'll be in that area?
Heading to Black Lake in a few months and it's a high grass hatchery so the lower screens need adressing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here's a link to a thread from a few days ago Varick. Same scenario, I believe, but for a 70hp.

http://forums.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=28;t=038976

You may not have to pull the bearing carrier under the pump housing on yours.

Basically, get a new screen. Break the old one out and push the new one down into place until it snaps in.

P/N for the intake screen is 0321123.I recommend you use a service manual for guiding you through the waterpump impeller replacement. Then if you have any questions someone can touch on details.I'd be reluctant to try and list the entire procedure for fear that I may leave out a detail or two.
