In the manual it says to use OMC Tool 324891 to remove the jets in the carb. Is this necessary? Can you use a screwdriver? Any help is greatly appriciated.
some people grind down a screw driver to remove the jet. after you assemble the float , turn the carb up side down, the float should be lined up (parallel) with the carb body.
Also, it says not to use nylon tie wraps on the fuel lines. Someone before me tie wraped the whole thing with about 15 tie wraps. It says to use ratchet type plastic clamps. They are hard to find locally. Any suggestions?
Just like Tashasdaddy said. I use a somewhat larger screwdriver and then grind it down to fit. This way the blade fits tight in the jet. If you use zip ties, use 2 and put them right next to each other 180* apart....A cheap zip tie gun will get them tight...
Find a 3/16 phillip's screwdriver, grind off the point to a flat edge, file the end down to a blade that just fit's the slot in the jet. This is the same as the factory tool.
