87 l6 115 parts help

need a rod-rod bolts-stand rings-main bears-complete powerhead gskt seal kits-rod bears- for a b197312 motor,,,,,seems the newer stuff easy to find but mid 80s,,,,tried a few searches but no rod found yet,thanks.

i cked,as everywhere else they only cover late stuff,,,looked at the list of parts for a 115====
4855153 THRU 5314655
7112248 THRU 7131212
8051950 THRU 8061119
thats all they cover-----so far maxrules came thru with everything but a rod.

A new connecting rod is going to be horribly expensive even if still available. You may find a decent used one at eBay Motors.

BTW you definitely can't scrimp on the rod bolts, for the newer-style rods with threaded bolt holes in the rods (vs. the old-style rods with thru-bolts). These are 'stretch bolts' and guaranteed they will break if you re-use them. They must be torqued to mfr's specs, to ensure the proper amount of bolt stretch.

Try searching for the specific part numbers...

• 624-8101A3 CONNECTING ROD
• 10-91012 SCREW-SPEC ( rod bolt ), you need 12 for the whole engine.
• 39-78816A12 RING SET-12 PCS
• 30-62567T BALL BEARING , top main bearing
• 30-63742T BEARING-BALL, bottom main bearing
• 29-714221 BRG-NEEDLE, center main bearing NEEDLES ( you will need 112 )
• 26113T RACE-CENTER MAIN, usually reusable
• 31-62596A1 BEARING SET, rod bearing for ONE cylinder... YOU CAN GET separate needles from multiple 3-part dealers ( Sierra, ProMarine ++ ).. are cheaper.
• 29-47270 BRG-NEEDLE ,piston pin, loose needles... you will need 174 for the whole engine.
• 26-41953 SEAL , top AND bottom crankshaft seals.. you will need 3.
• 27-85653A87 GASKET SET , complete gasket kit, it's a one for ALL kit ( inline 6 engines from 1972 > 1988 ).

thanks,,,droll,,,howd you come about those numbers,,,,very helpful,,,the rod i searched on swaps over to a stamped number thats diff than whats stamped on my rod tho,,,so far a new rods about 225,,,,be nice if someone on this site had a few good rods laying around.
