I just got a hydrasport dv200 with a dt 200 suzuki my mechanic is a mercury guy so he is skittish about my suzuki. now for the problems ( hopefully you can help me) : CARBS HAVE BEEN CLEANED AND ADJUSTED, IT WAS RUNNING ON MUFFS BUT SOAKING THE PLUGS. i carried it to the river to try it out and it wouldnt start! flooded. so it was taken back to the mechanic and he removed the plugs they were very wet...:confused: blew out the cylinders and put new plugs in REMOVED the oiling tank plugged the line mixed the fuel 50/1 and the last thing thats a problem is its idled too high and we cant figure how to idle it down . the knob on the side of the engine is turned down as far as it will go and its still running on muffs about 2k rpm. should be more like 700 i think.? HELP ME FELLAS:D

sounds like floats are to high, or needs some serious fuel/air adjustment 1-1 1/2 turns out should be close on the the screw adjustments. My '87 150 SS needed the screws adjusted to about 3/4 turns to get it to idle smoother
As to the high RPM, not sure what is causing that, since there is no idle set screw on Carbs that I'm aware of, I'm not a mechanic, so mu personal experience is what I'm drawing from here

Sounds like you dont have a manual for this motor. It is well worth the money.
If you didn't check that all the carbs are closing fully then this may be the problem. The mid and upper carb has a clamp screw on the coupling plate which allows you to close the lower fully and ensure that the other two are closed with it. Disconnect the cable to carb link. Release the two screws and bring all carbs to fully closed. Hold them in place and retighten the two screws. When this is done make sure that the carb link when reconnected allows the carbs to fully close. If not then adjust the link.

what about the throttle position sensor? i did a search and R_andersen got responses about the tps? the butterflys on the carbs are closed and at the same amount of closed...ed ness LOL. the screws are 1.5 out and the floats hmmmm i donno. :p
