Interesting thing goin on with my yamaha. 1987 115 Hp. It is taking a while to start. I start it in the muffs in my driveway and it starts right up. But when I launch it, it takes a couple tries before it fires. It isnt even trying to fire, then after about 4 or 5 tries it starts to fire, and then after like 2 more attempts it stays running. It runs great once I get it running, but if I shut it off for a period of time, over an hour, it takes a few tries to get it running again. I changed the plugs today, and havent taken it out since I changed em, but they didnt look bad. Another interesting point, all 4 plugs were gapped to .035" instead of the posted .040". I am getting the full 6000RPM at WOT, so it seems everthing is working fine, just hard to start, but like i said on the muffs it fires immediately, and and if I shut if off and turn it on shortly there after, like picking up a tuber or skiier it fires right back up. I only ask this because it seems like a new problem. I just got the motor about 2 weeks ago, and when i got it I dont remember it needing to try it so many to get it to fire. Maybe be a really simple thing, but I am new to outboards and boating.
