I pulled the carbs apart yesterday and found a sliver of material under the float valve assembly. I had noticed that the float was not level when the body when inverted. I told the local marine supply (several in my area...just call me lucky) and he said that the non-working vro pump diaphram was detereating (sp) with no kit availible, replacement with a pre-mix pump would be about $400 ouch....So I if just use an aftermarket electric pump that is coast guard approved, and follow their requirments for installation, I just have to figure out something for the pressure switch. My obstical is that when I bought this engine the vro system had been disconnected and removed and so I just have the connecter that comes from the vro pump. I have a perfectly fuctional vaccumm system that is going to the existing pump, any chance that there is an electric marine fuel pump that has a vaccumm saftey cut-off. After reading several posts here I use star tron in my fuel at each 12 gal. refuel to help counter the nice fuel that we are offered these days
