88 115hp L6 fuel pump vacuum powered only?

Thanks to all engine mechanics for the time you have taken for responses on this forum, you're a wealth of info.

I'm rebuilding my 115hp and have a quick question that I knew you could answer. In the crank case, behind the fuel pump, is there anything that belongs in the hole behind the fuel pump, or is that fuel pump only activated by vacuum through that hole in the case?

This is my first ever engine rebuild, so I'm excited to get it back to together all the while a bit insecure that I'll miss something early in the reassembly and have to year it all apart again for some little bolt or assembly step I missed.

Ok that's good to know. So the hole in the crack case is supposed to be open, I didn't lose a part there, right?
