My gas gauge reads empty (and yes it has fuel in it 
) all the time. I looked and it has 3 wires on top of tank. The one is a ground I'm guessing because it checked good for a ground. The other was hot when I turned the ignition. The other is just mounted on top of tank. I checked the wires going to gauge and one checked hot and I couldn't get any power from. I think one was pink and the other is purple. I looked at the float it looked fine. Any suggestions what it might be, or anything else I could check? Is there a way to check the gauge?
