88 45hp 4cyl runs hot

I have a strong steady tell tale stream about the first 5 minutes of running on the water then the stream goes to spitting a water and steam mixture back and forth if i slow down to idle it cools down almost to normalthis. motor has no thermostats .the impeller and cup section of the pump have been changedcompression. is in spectimming. is about 3degress after tdcplugs. look great no water in cylinderseven. removed telltale fitting in the head to peep inside ,looks cleanthe. dang water pressure never drops below 3 psi at near idle even when steam is comeing out .any suggestions ,thanks

jeeze sorry for the word jam .my helpful 4 year old was at the mouse when i came back into the room and he clicked before i could preview the post .so should read pump has been changed .compression is in spec.timming is at 3 degress after tdc. no water in cylinders

is the waterpump new? they are easy to change and you need to do that every 2 years

I just changed mine and the mechanic did it himself, sometimes they just go don't know why. I put the new one in ( i have a V8 sterndrive) and did a 9.9 check the tubes and entry holes are clear with a garden hose.
