Hi All,
Learnin as I go here so excuse if this is a dumb question. Since I had the carbs cleaned out and readjusted last season, seems like my controls are not as responsive as they used to be. When I hit it to WOT i get good hole shot and up to max rpm pretty quick, but at the mid range, feels like it takes a while to build and I have to push it down almost all the way to get to a midrange cruising speed, then it builds, and i back off. Difficult to describe. In other words, there is alot of play in the controls between neutral and WOT. Any ideas, is there an adjustment somewhere that would make it more responsive?
Thanks in advance

My controller has a spring inside that is between the lever and arm that actually pushes the throttle, so i had similar problem when i put lever to, say 1/2 WOT and it slowly builds up the RPM. Same with descreasing. So I ahve lubricated the whole controller and now it is better, still not instant, but much better.

Thanks,
I will try that. I was thinking though that it should be something on the motor side of the cable, no?

In my case I took the cover off the motor, so I could see the movement of the carb throttle arm . After I moved the shifter forward the arm on the carb continued moving for the next couple secs. This told me that there was something inside the controller.
