Put the fresh rebuilt carbs on today.

When I started I didn't see a pee steam.Does this motor have a pee stream?Should it be coming out the little black hole that the hose from the bottom of the engine connects to?
I took the hose off from the engine and could not blow thru it but sucked some water out. Is this a one way valve?

Could it be a thermostat issue?

It was sitting for like five years and I didn't check the impellor yet.I also didnt run it for more than like 1 minute at a time.

Thanks

The tell-tale will get plugged by a bug or something, take a piece of trimmer string and insert in the hose to clean it out. The tell-tale is an indicator that the water pump is pumping. If it has been sitting that long it is time to replace water pump anyway, I wouldn't run it till the pump was replaced.

replace the impeller, and clear the tale tell hose. that is a great power house of a motor, no need to screw it up, cutting corners.

Just an update the telltale nipple was clogged. Ran it without the nipple and the stream was good. Thats about all for now time to rip it off the boat and replace the transom. Still will need to replace the impellor in the spring when I put it back on the boat. Along with some other fine tunning like checking the temp sending units and the buzzer.

Thanks again to all who helped with all my questions. I wouldn't have got this far without you all.:D:D:D
