Hey guys, need some help here. My '88 black max has a difficult time starting, usually the first start of the morning and during breaks when I'm using the trolling motor. Once it gets going, there's no issues. Compression is 120 all around.

I had some new plugs and was going to switch it out today and noticed the old plugs were a little oiled up, is this consistent? Also, thoughts on moving to the NGK BU10H from the standard NGK BU8H plugs?

What could be wrong? Think it could be a mixture problem?

I wasn't aware that a BU10H existed, but if it did, I would NOT go to a colder plug.

All two strokes will exhibit signs of oil on the plugs.

Is the fuel enrichment/choke working? Disconnect a line and test for fuel delivery when the ignition key is pressed in after pumping up the primer bulb.
