OK I had a post before about a burnt up starter, for anyone who read it, anyway I got my starter fixed and back on. I just had work done to my motor about a month ago but havent been able to try it out because of my starter. The guy did some carb work and put a new water pump in( he replaced the housing and all). I took it out to the lake today and sure enough it wouldnt start I gave up and pulled it out of the water. When I lowered the motor to let it drain, a bunch of black water came out from the inside of the propeller, and it had a strong gas smell to it. Can anyone tell me why it was black and smelled so strong of gas? Thanks.

It is unburnt fuel. Did it start when you left the guy's place who did the work?

He said he had it running good. I didn't try it and havent been able to due to the starter problem. I believe I flooded it while trying to start it. I could smell gas and it wouldnt fire.
