88 force 125 lower unit cross over

Hey guys, I have a chance to get an Extremely good deal on a jet drive off a 75 hp merc. I think the is 86 or 87. Will this work on my 88 force 125. I've heard it will and I've heard it won't. Figured I would come ask the experts.

Completely different bolt pattern.
