What was the compression?How old is the battery? Take it to any Auto Zone or any of the chain stores to get it load tested.

VICTORY!!!!!

It was combo of low battery charge, corrosion on the connections, short in the starter, and a poorly seated jet. Whoooo Hoooo she runs like a swiss watch now!!!!!

I got home last night after charging the battery all day. put my muffs on it and tried to fire it up.It would crank but wouldn't stay running and then the starter began doing its thing again so I cleaned all the "shifty" looking connections and took her down to the lake. Never had another problem with the starter but I was getting a "pop" while it was running. so I shut it down screwed all the carbs back in and then backed each out to 1 1/4 turns, the bottom carb was only a 1/2 a turn out. Fired her back up and she purrs like a kitten.
