88 hp Johnson (1993) exhaust seal question

I changed the impeller out and must not have gotten one of the two large exhaust seals seated correctly . When the motor is started water does come out of the pee hole, some thru the prop and also out of several other places in the lower unit. Is this okay? Just wondering , I didn't know if I needed to drop it again and find out or if the water will get into the gear oil down there somehow. Thanks for any advice.

jbkk,<br /><br />If you are running on the muffs, water will come out everywhere.<br /><br />It is not important to get a perfect seal on the joint where the lower unit meets the exhaust housing. Just make sure the bolts are tight.
