Hello Everyone,
I have an 88 Johnson 150 V6 that is having throttle issues. As soon as I turn the engine on the revs go really high. Then if I try to go into gear there is a big grinding noise. It's like the choke is all the way up when I start it. Any suggestions on where to look and what to start and try to fix? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Off topic but also, when I put the engine up and down it takes about 6 seconds for it to engage and then the motor starts to go up or down with a loud noise to it. Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks again!

Get an OEM factory service manual and do a proper sync & link on it. Your t/t may be low on fluid.
