On the end of the tiller, there's the kill switch and next to it, inward of the kill switch, there's a round knob. Does this control anything?...on a previous Outboard that I owned, this controlled fuel mixture ratio...lean or rich. Was not sure about this model Johnson.

What model motor had a mixture control on the handle ?------------I have not seen that controlling the mixture on any Johnson.

I think it was a '58 Sears 9.9 hp, it's been about 30 years since I had that motor...does this have a function on the '88 Johnson 30?

My 1988 9.9hp has knob built in the kill switch at the end and I learned it was for fine tuning the throttle/idle..I never knew it since this was my first outboard and previous owner never told me cause he probably did not know..I recently did use it to fine tune it.

I think that knob is for controlling motor speed only. Not mixture.
