i bought a 1988 88hp johnson with power trimand tilt, but the wires are cut at the back of the motor, there are two black wires going into a small harness and the other two wires are blue and green. the trim and tilt works if i put the two color wires one on each postof the battery it will either go up or down. but the problem is the controls i receaved with the motor doesnt have the up and down switch on the handle. so my big question to all of you guys out here is can i makeit work with a switch on the dash and if so were do the wires conect to.if anyone here has a wiring diagram for this that would be a super help

the green wire matches grass so grass is down, Blue matches the sky so blue is up. You can get a trim switch for your dash. It is a three position switch up/down/and off. The green and bluw wires act as grounds for each other when operating for instance when trimming down the blue wire is the ground for the green wire. That being said you need to order an indash trim switch and it should come with the wirring diagram. good luck

Is there a hole for a motor mounted trim switch?

Those black ones are the wires for a trim gauge that lead to a sensor.

The green and blue wires need to be wired to a tilt trim relay and then onto a switch.

I replaced the relay I needed with a brand new set up from CDI and I highly recommend it.

If your control lever does not have a trim switch you will need to find one of those too.
