I have an 88 OMC 140 in an 88 Bayliner. The motor was completely rebuilt and reinstalled. I replaced the water pump, fuel pump as well.
I can run the boat for 1 hour and it runs great, at about 1 hr it starts to miss and it lead to a stall and no run situation. After some time it will restart and run fine again.
I had a Pertronix installed but reinstalled the points ignition thinking it was Pertronix breaking down. The ignition coil is a stock one and checks out fine with 3 ohm resistance.
All fuel issues have been checked, carb was rebuilt by a shop, anti siphon was removed and temp using a brass fitting.
I have been dealing with this issue for 6 weeks now and cannot find the problem.
Please HELP !!!

The carb has fuel, there seems to be something causing the electric to the ignition intermit. Occasionally other things electric act funny (go on and off themself)

Could the resistance wire cause this?

There is also one fuse that if disconnected it shuts the boat down, I did not know ignition system was fused?
