I bought this a couple years ago as my 'first' boat in leu of jetskis and I love it. Have some issues though and a story I'd like to share.

First the story:

About 3 years ago the engine on this thing threw a rod through the oilpan. Short story, toasted engine. The estimate for repairs was $3500. After doing a lot of research, I found a company that would send me a new (not rebuilt) chevy (aka Mercruiser) engine for $1200 and the local marina offered to install it for $700. On July 4th last year I took it out for the first time after getting "fixed" and that engine blew as well essentially destroying a piston and cylindar. Neither the engine maker nore the installers would take credit for the blunder but both agree it could not possibly be my fault. The manufacturer sent me a new engine to replace the old-new engine but I had to cover $1100 additional at the marina to have them switch again. What a drag. What I learned was to ask the manufacturer for an installation warranty so they would have covered the re-installation (even though they didn't actually do it). I still have not gotten it on the water yet since this last replacement but had it running in my driveway for a while yesterday.

Now my issues:

1. The hull is very faded and dull. Is there a way to refinish/buff this out so it looks good again?

2. I am looking for recommendations on a bimini top for it.

3. The cover over the rear lite-pole holder is gone, any ideas where I can get a replacement?

Thanks in advance!!
