88 suzuki 200 no fire

sorry guys I know this has come up a lot.started once after rebuild, now no power at the plugs. new stator new plugs all checks out well with my dwell. the only thing i can figure is maybe low oil unit, ANYBODY know how to test this puppy.this was a total rebuild ground up new fuel tank,new wiring,new cables. the motor is about to make me pull my hair out. background on motor 200 ss dual plugs carb all coils are fine.i have two cdi's swapped them out. all help to get on the water would be great. JOHN

How long did you run it on the first start?

My 87 150 SS did a similar thing only not after a rebuild. I bought mine from Ebay, went to pick it up; heard it run but when I got home and hanging on boat had no fire. I gave up, took it to a mechanic, took him two days to get it running. He said it had a corroded ground on the block to the electronics, and had to replace ground lug. Not sure whether it was bolt to head but my guess was it was corroded wire lug connector.. Not much detail but maybe similar in your situation.

it started and ran wide open for about 2 min no damage to motor. would not shut down by kill switch or key had to remove fuel line, stator started smoking, I replaced entire elec system on motor including stator harness power packs i have been siting on this a year now. i would get mad close it up, open back up work a while. i live north of atlanta we had no water in 2007 now we have water again any help on testing would be great trying to test low oil warnig unit
