Hi all. I have a '75 888 with a problem. My excellent mechanic says I have blow by causing a smoky problem at the back of the engine after running for a bit. It's not an oil leak and it's not the engine coupler. Before I ask him what the next step is I wanted to ask all of you. What is the repair for blow by? Ring job? Complete rebuilt block? STP?
Thanks!

It's only thirty-three years old, get it involved in sports so it won't go bad.
Rebuild the engine.

At least rings and if you are doing that you might as well do the rest.

You could try running a can of SeaFoam engine cleaner through it to free up the oil rings, maybe that might help, or, it's rebuild time, or you maybe better off getting a rebuilt 351cu in Ford, and using all your external parts that fit.

Careful, the boat will need some modification to fit a 351......;)
