89 140 Lower Mount problem

I have a 89 evinrude 140 that had a corroded mouter mount on the STBD side. When I removed the mount I found a piece that had broken off from the mid section right above the mount. Will this cause a problem with the engine? The engine runs fine except for an idle problem where it will not idle between 800-1100 rpms. It idles fine below 800 and above 1100. I will try to post a picture.

Nothing to do with a corroded mount. Sounds like a carb problem. Salt water motor I assume.
