I just recently bought a 89 Evinrude 25hp. They guy i bought it from told me that it was running rough, cutting in and out. I haven't put it in the water yet, went straight to buy a carb kit. There were a lot more parts than the float assembly and new gaskets! Do all of these need to be used?? Also the inside of the bowl looks a lot different than any I've seen before. Does anybody have a pic of what the float assembly should look like on this carb? This would be very helpful!!! I will post pics tomorrow.

Also I need a stop switch for the end of the tillar handle for this motor if anyone has one on a scrap motor. Thanks in advance!

Go to shop.evinrude.com and lookup your motor and click carburetor, the diagram should show you.

does this look right?

does this look right?

OK. This the bowl where the float assembly is and how it looked (minus taking the float off) when I took it apart. Should that small tube be up and sticking out and to the side of the larger one?

To answer you question about the long and short brass tubes, they are in the absolute correct position. Do not be tempted to remove them. Just make sure they are clean.
