Absolutely Jiggz, thanks for responding.
Guys, I have now received my carbie for my 91 replacement power head and I'm glad I won't need the solenoid primer cuz it's set up for the original mechanical choke - it's dirty and I know I can use the same bowl gasket but the part number for the two screw gaskets is different, I will make my own gasket and take pictures of the whole thing and be careful to only change what I can use and clean carefully as to not mess anything up nor deal with the float if it's not craked or damaged.
This carbie has two adjusting screws, not sure in that but please advice, also could you guys please let me know if I should use Loctite on the bolts holding the exhaust plate or what I did last time which is to use too much anti seize cream? I loosened it up real easy this time around which scared me and worries me about coming loose with vibration.
Please let me know on that too as I am about to get started now..... Good luck to me!! :)

Re: 89-50HP Carb doesn't fit on 91-50HP

Good morning guys! Need your help.
I broke the plastic elbow main fuel intake. It was some kind of hard plastic. I had a hell of a time removing the broken peace that remained inside the carb. I finally did it. The threads were hurt just a bit. I now have installed a brass elbow fitting. My question is --- do I use any sealant? If so what kind? All that I found said not to use with fuel. Do I install an first see if it leaks? It fits very tightly. Will it suck air?
I replaced the main needle which is way diffent than my 89 carbie, luckily the needle I bought last time for my 89 included the other needle for the 91 without knowing I just saved it now it paid off.
Sealant or not? What kind?
