89 Bayliner Trophy with a no spark condition

Hello looking for BigBabyLou, I have an 89 Bayliner Trophy with a no spark condition and am wondering if the wire to the points are bad. I just put a new coil on and points and condenser. I need to know the voltage and resistence checks and should I perform a temporary ground to check for a spark?

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard James,..... Please don't hy-jack old threads, I started ya a new 1 here with yer posts from the old 1,....

Hello Bondo thanks, until I learned the page I did not know how to post a new thread. I have an 89 bayliner trophy with 3 in line solinoids and just put on another coil. I still have no spark to the points. OK I will follow your orders. Thank You

Hello Bondo, I did find the link and will follow that. It is mainly talking about a v8 and I have an 89 bayliner trophy hardtop 3.0 omc mercruiser. I did not see how to reply or make a new topic once the forum is closed.

Ayuh,... It's either an OMC, OR a Mercruiser, not both,......

A points ignition is a points ignition, 4 cylinder, 6, or 8,.... Still done the same,.....

'n Solenoids are parts of the Startin' circuit,...
Nothin' at all to do with the Ignition,....
