When should water be coming from the relief ports under the back of the "pan"? I see a lot of spray at rest, and idle, but none when at speed (at least moderate speed, say 3500 to 4000 rpm. My older V4s (1978 85hp and 1976 115hp) always had at least a dribble coming out when under way. Like I've said in previous posts this motor is new to me and I'm still adjusting to its quirks (rather like being married I guess...) Any advice would be appreciated.

I think when your underway on a plane the water comes out just above the cavitation plate, when your at rest and these ports are under water is when the water comes out of the relief ports (I think).

That sounds right, is that what you see on your motor?
