89 force outboard

have an 89 force 85 h/p outboard with 30 lbs compresson in the 3rd cyl 95 in #1 and 90 in #2 not sureif its abad se of rings or blown head gasket any ideas thanks max

Eeeew!<br />Sorry to hear that. I would pull the head off first, and inspect the sleave and piston crown first. If it looks like a melt-down, look for another engine. But if it looks good, and the sleave is not grooved worse than a hone can remove, order the gaskets and a set of rings.<br />This is just how I personally would attack it.

you need to remove the head and see if your engine is salvagable if you just need rings your eyes will tell you carbon build up is fixable
