89' Force running on 2 cylinders

Have checked EVERYTHING, and I still can't seem to get it to run on all 4 cyl. #'s 3&4 are getting fuel and spark. It has a new, Dealer installed, CD module for those 2 cylinders, and it looks like it is hooked up right, but some of th wire colors are different from the original??? Is there anyway I can check and see if #3 & #4 are firing at the right time? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am at my wits end, and my wife is ready to kill me, because she wants to go fishing SOON.<br />Thanks <br />Greg

Having some different wires is not unusual...but if you knowtice....there should be atleast one wire out of the 2 wire combination that matches up.<br /><br />If you take a close look at the wires...you will understand what I am getting at.<br /><br />TMD

I checked the CD wiring (new one installed by dealer) My manual says CD green to trigger green CD orange to trigger orange (#3) CD red to trigger red Cd white/green to trigger white/green.<br />The new CD wires are white/yellow and white/orange. White/yellow is connected to orange (#3) and white/orange is connected to white/green (#4) Wouldn't one think that white/orange (CD) should be connected to orange (trigger)?? Would it hurt anything to at least try to swith them??<br />Thanks soo much for all the help. I don't know what I would do without this forum.<br />Greg

I had the same problem with different wires, get someone who knowas what their doing before you fry it and are out 300 bucks

As I said...one color should match. So the orange should go to the orange.<br /><br />TMD

GIV23 WHAT YOU CAN DO IS SWAP THE STATOR WIRES FROM MODULARS ANS SEE IF PROBLEM MOVES TO 1 @ 2 CYLINDERS GOING DEAD IF PROBLEM MOVES THEN YOU WILL NEED A STATOR

Well I don't know exactly how, but I got this thing running on all 4 (or at least 3). I switched the CD units, and started wiring them back from scratch. Instead or relying on color alone, i also paid attention to where the wire came out on the back of the CD unit. I fired it up, and it back fired out the exhaust really bad. I was at the end of my rope, so in desparation. I switched the coil wires on the new CD unit which was now installed on #1 & #2. Tried it again, and it fired right up with the RPM's almost doubled. I lowered the idle a bit, and tried putting my hand in front of each carb to see if I got a drop in RPM's (before, when I covered the bottom carb it made no difference whatsoever, and it would die the second I put my hand in front of the upper carb). This time I got a decrease in idle speed with each carb. Before I launch into the guys that installed this module does anyone know where I can find a wiring dia gram for this module???? It is made by CDI electronics. Thanks a million<br />Greg
