Ok, so I know I am going off the deep end as this is my first post! My brother in law had this Gemini Boat sitting for the past 6 plus years, for some odd reason I just had to have it. I have a 09 CC Bay boat, but love the challange of projects. It is in rough shape, transom is toast, stingers are gone...but, there is life left in her! The motor is a 1989 Evenrude 150 that has not been started in 6 years either. I know this may not be a popular decision, but I am going for a Flats build. I have decided to raise the seats to the height of the rear deck, relocate the batteries to the front (off set the fuel), new transom and stringers. I'm gonna lean on the experts here and my brother in law for a ton of assistance.

Thanks in advance!

A.T.

Under console 2.jpg Seems like the foam under the deck is still dry but I do see alot of rot that will need to be removed

So here we go, i started with removing the carpet from the deck.
Under the console I find the wood to be completly rotted out

Front Deck.jpg This is where I would like to have a hatch iserted to hold the trolling motor batteries. There current location is to the left and right of the fuel tank in the back of the boat. I would like to relocate them to help center some weight for shallow water fishing

Front deck 3.jpg Looking at the very front of the boat, this is the area I would like to reinforce and install the batteries in.

Stringer.jpgThis is a picture of the stringer that is under the area I would like to reinforce. As you can tell it is ROTTED and needs to be replaced. Can anyone tell me what type of glass this is?

Suprise.jpg And one more for good measure. This is the surprise I found when i started tearing out the foam. Carpenter Ants decided to make a breeding ground out of the foam

So how is your progress coming along? I have torn into my deck and am in the process of foaming.

We are currently working on getting our 1990 Gemini 200DCX ready to tear down and rebuild for guiding up here in Michigan. Looks like it should be a good boat for you!
