'89 Johnson 60 VRO Running Rough

I have a 1989 Stratos Boat with a '89 Johnson 60 on it. The boat used to run great, but now it is hard to start and and when it is started it revs up really high (on muffs) and fuel leaks back out of the carbs. Im not sure where to start but its also fouling out the plugs after a while, like its getting to much fuel or oil....Any help would be greatly appreciated ....David

I had about the same problem when i bought my '87 70VRO Johnson-
A carb rebuild & a link 'n sync solved it all
Fergot- also changed from NGK plugs to Champion

I dont know what a link n sync is, was getting the carbs rebuilt expensive or did you do it yourself? Thanks for the help...

linc n sinc is in the service manual, different for each motor. coordinates spark and carbs.
