Quick question

My Johnson v4 has a temp sensor on both starbd and port side the port having two wires...

My question is how does this circuit work if the starboard overheats will it put the engine to slow mode? My alarm went off this morning solid tone but never dropped in to slow mode... When I turned engine off the alarm stopped but when I turned key back to "on" position the alarm sounded so I'm assuming it was def overheat.

All of the V4 engines have dual head temp switches. You will get a constant horn if the engine overheats. Some of the V4 engines had slow that year-all the 90 degree loopers. Not installed on the V4 crossflows. As Boobie stated, need a model number....
