Hey Everyone,

Ran into something that is somewhat telling me that the compression is not the problem.

1st Cylinder 126
2nd Cylinder 149
3rd Cylinder 149

Slid a trashcan underneath the motor and filled er up with water. Cranked the motor up. Fired up like a champ. Let idle for about a half an hour. Looked in the trash can where the motor was and it wreaked of raw gas. It looked like oil had mixed with Vinegar, except blacker.

Does this seem like Carbureater or fuel pump problems?

When run wide open on the river it will run, but if you let off, it spits and sputters. I guess another question is.... If a cylinder isn't firing and gas gets dumped into the chamber, what happens to the gas if detination doesn't occur?
Thanks everyone.

With that much fuel it sounds like the fuel pump diaphram

Hey Laddies,

Thanks for the reply. Do you think the compression is really bad? Or do you think it is definately a fuel issue? I havn't checked the spark on the coils yet. Is is as simply as taking the plugs out, and grounding them to the motor like a lawnmower and checking for spark?

I believe that 2&3 are high because they have excess fuel in them, If you ground the plugs do not hold them with your hand they have 3 or 4 times the voltage of a mower.
