ok here we go again, before i begin, thanks to everyone's advice...heres my store...

new alpha1 outdrive, 35 hours on it (SE106)
new impeller
new circulation pump
new tstat housing
new tstat
new hoses
new manifolds and risers
tstat housing is clean as is tstat
new spark plugs, coil,distributor cap,rotor
new temp gauge

after changing the manifolds and risers temp came down from 200 to 190 (they were rotted out), just went out today in palm beach,fl, water in the ocean was about 88....i now have a good amount of water coming out of the tell tale where i wasnt before, and i trust the gauge...felt the engine while running and it is a bit hot....any other ideas i should check? i really wanna get it down to 180,175.....im gonna get an IR gun just be sure but what else can i check....the temp never goes past 190 and i ran for 4 hours today....don s - thanks for your previous advice of the manifolds and risers, they were really nasty!

If memory serves: your temp should be 160 With everthing new and no blockages in the hoses(impeller pieces) Maybe the guage is off. Jerry

Ayuh,....

It's usually mounted in the in-coming water line between the outdrive,+ the T-Stat housing....

All it takes is one little piece of rubber from an old impeller to plug the PS cooler up.Or it could be heavily corroded inside.

Bingo bond-o. Ha i'm a poet also.

My 2 cents, you have a flapper get loose. Plugged up the exhaust.
