89 omc 3ltr shift assist

Recently changed from points to electronic I find it works better since I troll alot(the points seemed to be wearing out too often).It's kinda stiff too shift.I saw on this sight a omc shift assist fix for this problem the only thing is I cant find the resistors,found the diodes no prob but the resistors I need don't seem to be avail in can.I can get 24k 1/2 watt ones but not the 24.7k 1/2 watt ones.radio shack is no more in can.and the source no longer has that stuff.can I use the 24's?

That should not be a problem at all. The spec must be calling out 1% resistors when in practice a 5% resistor is more than adequate for an application such as this.

I looked over my schematic again and figured out they wanted 2 4.7k 1/2 watt resistors,not 24.7 resistors.Had no problem finding them ,Thanks

I went onto the pertronix site to see what you were looking at. I can see why you thought that it was 24.7.
