Hey guys I have a 89 pachanga 22. The exterior R is great and the motor seems solid where the mounts are. Recently when out I tore my driver seat out of the floor. Guess the floor was a bit rotted there seems 3/8" ply was used on the floor. I patched it for the time being to get out on the water cut a big square and out in some new ply and glassed it in. My question is the wood that supports the floor I'm guessing the stringers? Shouldn't those be fiberglassed in? I just saw the top because below the floor is all foam but there pretty rotten in that little 24"x24" square I cut. Are the stringers just supposed to be exposed like that and there thin too looks like plywood. Are the stringers maybe lower and fiberglassed right in? Anyone with the layout of the structural setup of the pachanga please let me know. Thank you

Odds are that the floor is not the only thing that is rotting. So, you may want to look further into the condition of the structure . . . yes those wet soggy things beneath the floor used to be the stringers. . . :)

boats rot from the keel up. first to go is transom and stringers, then the floor.

so if you love the boat, your looking at a full gut-n-restoration.
