89 Quantum Bass Boat Help

Hey everyone, I am new to the forum and just picked up a new project. It's an 89 Quantum Bass Boat with an 85 HP Force on it. It needs a little work here and there and looks like the floor needs some replacing. I plan on doing that this weekend but haven't been able to find much info on these boats. I know that they were a Brunswick Marine boat but not too much beyond that. Does anyone know where I could get some more information on it? The biggest problem I am having is the windshield. The boat did not come with any, nor any of the hardware to mount them. I found a company that makes replacements, but I don't like how low the factory shield is and the price of them. I also don't know what the hardware looks like and how it was attached. From what I can tell it looks like the windshield was also a storage compartment but I can't find any pics of that area on the boat. Does anyone have any pictures of theirs that I could check out? I planned on either making my own in a little different design, or having a shop do it.

It's the same boat as a similar year Bayliner so you can probably find more information out that way.

The Bayliners seam to have a different windshield than the Quantums.

I started to disassemble the boat tonight and it isn't as bad as I thought. It looks like the front deck was replaced not to long ago, and I have been able to take up the carpet in once piece.

Hopefully this helps. The windshields do flip up to allow access to the storage below and to block wind while underway.

These are the only pictures I could find on my computer of the boat, if you need some closer shots of the windshield compartments just let me know.

did you ever locate the windshields for your boat? If so, where and how much (if you don't mind me asking)? I just purchased an '88 Quantum that looks identical to yours, and with no windshields. The aerator/live wells also do not work, but haven't had time to dive into that just yet.

Please start your own thread Cebo. The poster of this thread appears to be long gone.

Re: 89 Quantum Bass Boat Help

I ran my Skeeter for several years without a shield. But I must admit, when the temps got down below freezing, it sure was nice to duck behind the shield to keep warm after I installed one! Good luck to you, and come on back and post a little more often, Bakernator!
