I am pretty sure I have a leak somewhere in the trim system because if I tilt up the engine, it slowly lowers on its own. I have some oil/hydraulic fuel build-up running down the trim cylinder and I think it is leaking out the top of the cylinder head where the arm comes out.

I checked Crowley, and there does not seem to be a seal there, at least not one for sale. Should I try a hydraulic stop-leak product like this?

Try the stop leak first and if that doesn't do it re-seal it properly.

In case anyone else runs into this issue. My "leak" looked pretty bad, I mean I could raise the engine and it would lower itself completely within about 5 minutes. However, after cleaning the cylinder and connections and then testing the problem, I could not find a leak. I also checked the fluid level, and it was fine.

I decided to do some reading to find out what I would need to do if the tilt/trim took a dump while I was out on the water I found a post stating that you can disengage the tilt/trim system by locating a hole in the bottom of the Seadrive mounting bracket and using a long flat head screwdriver to open the screw. This would allow you to lift the motor manually so that you could trailer the boat.

So I go to find said screw to make sure that it is not seized up, and find that it is actually not tightened all the way. So I tighten her up and thank God, the trim is holding just fine now.
