89 v135. one thing after another! help with no spark please?!

hey guys. this motor is driving me crazy. i put my spark plug wire tester light on the boat and the lower left cylinder was extremely faint. almost not there. i switched two coils and it was still that lower left cylinder not firing, or at least not enough. now that i know its not the coil, what do i look for? also changed the poppet and now have a bit of water sputtering out of the little hole in the poppet cover.please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!! If it's misfiring on one, and it's not the coil or wires, then it about has to be a switchbox. I could be either switchbox, but is most likely the one that is connected to the spark plug.

Before I bought those expensive parts, I'd verify the diagnosis with either the service tests in the mercury manual, or the ignition testing procedure from CDI.

If one cylinder is mis firing, it will go slow and use more fuel, with a significant part of it going into the lake unburned.

oh thank you so much john. im glad you said that about the switchbox. i didnt want to hear STATOR!switchbox will be easier to change. Thank you again and im on it tomorrow!
