89 yamaha 150hp outboard power pack?

Took my boat to a mechanic he said only 3 of the 6 plugs where firing properly, he suspected it was the power pack. I purchased a used pack installed it now there is no fire to any of them. I was told the pack was tested before shipment. Bad pack? or any other suggestions.

Tested the new pack its good but im not getting any spark to any of the plugs, put the old pack back on and there is good spark to 3 and some to the other 3, both packs are identical and have the same number on the back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 89 yamaha 175 hp and have a similar problem, where i'm getting spark from only 3 cyclinders on one side. I suspect the power pack as well, but I have not bought one yet, as i'm still not sure that is the problem. Have you had any luck resolving your problem? How much did you pay for a power pack?

post the DVA voltages from the trigger input circuits and the charge coil inputs and the CDI outputs.
both loaded and unloaded.
without those numbers its all a crap shoot.
