Hey Howdy Y'all! I've been lurking and learning a bunch of good info and tips by reading previous posts as far back as I could. Most of my questions have been answered in this fashion but I finally hit the wall trying to find a Gasket and Seal set for a 82hh 8hp motor, vintage 1974. I purchased the machine from a fellow who used it up until a year ago and then just let it set. I blew some carb cleaner through it put fresh gas in the tank and it fired on the 4th pull. Durn near scared me to death. :D It runs fairly well but I think the fuel pump is weak and the low speed circuit on the carb is crudded up so I ordered kits for for them but in the process of tank testing I noticed a LOT of oil in the water. So I checked the lower Unit's oil and its milky as heck. Now comes the problem of finding a lower unit seal and o-ring set!! I can't find one anywhere and I have checked a dozen or more places. If anyone has knowledge of one etc. Please let me know!

TYIA
Mike

Check on eBay for parts. Sounds like you could stand for a good decarb too! 74! That should be in a museum...

Well I have checked eBay and will continue to do so . I just haven't found any for this small a motor yet. Perhaps I should check with the Smith in DC. :D LOL :D Hey I've got the Dart Sport to match a 1974 Dart Sport with the Leaning Tower of Power. I can get ANY part for it easily enough for it so why not the outboards. :confused:

Eureka !!! They List one . . . although the gaskets look weird compared to the manual. Strangely enough they're in Sarasota Fla., only about 90 mins up the road. I'll give them a holler on the blower in the A.M.! THANK YOU ALL so much.

Mike

Well I sent an email and asked if the set listed was indeed the one for my motor and got this as a reply . . .

"Mike;

You own a Chrysler ... no one knows.

Don (outboardparts.com)" :eek:

Perhaps a junk yard would be a better place for the little jewel. LOL :( :p
